"Development and validation of a software for measurement of abdominal aortic calcification UDETMA method" is the name of the software led by Elvira Fernández - Head of Nephrology at University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova and researcher IRBLleida - and Àngels Betriu, researcher in IRBLleida has been among the 10 finalists of the 2nd Innovation Competition of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).
On July 10 the winners of such awards in a ceremony attended by the authorities of the Department of Health and Economy and Knowledge were awarded, as well as action-ROCHE, drivers of competition.
Since the beginning of the contest, on March 12, there have been 67 projects, 44 derived from 23 clinical practice and biomedical research. The projects, which have worked 234 professionals and 93 173 healthcare biomedical research come from 13 hospitals and 22 research centers, universities and foundations, which makes clear the great participation and a variety of sources. The VHIR Innovation Competition has become the Health Innovation Competition of Catalonia. This has been key to the collaboration of 33 companies in the health sector and 8 public institutions that support the project.
